The turbine (GT) Brayton cycle and the steam turbine (ST) power plant Rankine cycle complement each other to form an efficient CCGT. The Brayton cycle has a high source temperature and rejects heat at a temperature that is conveniently used as the energy source for the Rankine cycle plant [1].
